I wrote before that Varkiza almost IS a suburban village to Athens...I love places like that, I like bigger places with a lot to do and with a possibility to drive around in the neighbourhood...The mainland is much more interesting to me....but as I say: That is MY opinion!

For me it is NOT crazy to spend a week in Varkiza in the beginning or the end of season I will certanly do it again!

Lissi you have a point, and i agree that there are many advantages like the proximity to a big city (with all the options that this gives to you).
And probably as you mentioned at the end of the season is nice. I have been there only 2-3 times "gia mpanio" during july and it was very very crowdy, thats perhaps why i have this negative feeling.
And you can go for a dive in the lake of vouliagmeni ( very close to varkiza )
