Platanias is rather empty night time since we have mostly older tourists. For anyone in need of nightlife I suggest Social cafe, Dielefsis and Tropicano, the meeting point for younger.
The weather now is fantastic but the news says we'll get rain Saturday. Where in Crete and when is the question. It might be only in the mountains and night time, but they should be prepared to spend a day in a cosy cafe with a Irish coffee and a good book
